Bratney offers crude corn oil pretreatment process

By | May 14, 2008
Des Moines, Iowa-based Bratney Cos. recently announced the availability of a new bolt-on process for the pretreatment of crude corn oil used to produce biodiesel. The technology, which is being provided by Germany-based partner Cimbria Sket, filters impurities from crude corn oil recovered at the back end of an ethanol plant to produce refined corn oil and free fatty acids suitable for biodiesel production. The process is expected to provide biodiesel producers with a lower-cost feedstock alternative.
