By | November 13, 2008
Houston-based Sunrise Ridge Algae Inc. has been awarded $250,000 from the Texas Emerging Technology Fund to commercialize its wastewater algae production technology that produces feedstocks for biodiesel and other applications. The company operates a research facility and pilot-scale algae farm at a wastewater treatment facility adjacent to the city of Austin's Hornsby Bend Biosolids Management Plant. It has been working with the University of Texas in Austin to identify high oil-yielding species and growth protocols of algae.
