Lee Enterprises Consulting of Little Rock, Ark., announced the formation of a strategic alliance with FCStone Merchant Services LLC, a subsidiary of INTL FCStone Inc., a Fortune 500 company. FCStone Merchant Services provides feedstock financing for plants to help them produce maximum capacity. Affiliate FCStone’s Renewable Fuels Group's expertise covers the entire spectrum of activities related to renewable fuels, ranging from a full understanding of both inputs—grains, oilseeds/fats and energy—and outputs, including ethanol, biodiesel, DDGS and glycerin. Their proprietary database and historical knowledge provide customers with a huge competitive advantage, and their risk management programs focus on building the crush margins needed to operate successful renewable fuels plants.
“We are pleased to work with Lee Enterprises Consulting,” said Nate Burk, Risk Management Consultant with FCStone. “Lee Enterprises Consulting has assembled a high skilled and impressive group of the top professionals in the biodiesel industry. They are the world’s largest and they continually move closer to being able to handle every biodiesel need. We are happy to be their selection with respect to feedstock financing.”

Wayne Lee, principal owner of Lee Enterprises Consultants, said the new relationship fills a much needed niche in the industry. “As the world’s largest biodiesel consulting firm, we only look at affiliation with top individuals and groups that can complete our full service abilities,” Lee said, noting that all biodiesel plants have large operational capital demands for feedstock and that the cash flow from such demand is a significant factor in the failure of biodiesel plants. “FCStone’s program allows plants an alternative to this huge capital investment in feedstock that we believe will significantly increase many plants’ bottom lines,” Lee said. “I have known Nate and his leadership in the development of integrated risk management plans for biodiesel plants for some time, and we are very proud to have FCStone as a strategic alliance and Nate as our contact within that group.”
