Algae.Tec Ltd. is holding a VIP official commissioning of its Shoalhaven One showcase algae production facility in Bomaderry, New South Wales, Australia, on Aug. 2.
Shoalhaven One is a series of enclosed algae photobioreactors (PBRs) co-located next to the Manildra Group’s ethanol refinery. Manildra Group is Australia’s largest ethanol producer. The Algae.Tec PBRs will take a carbon dioxide feed from the ethanol fermenters into the algae growth system.
The PBR modules were assembled at Algae.Tec’s U.S. headquarters, the Algae Development & Manufacturing Centre located in Atlanta.

The Shoalhaven One showcase facility will be officially opened by the New South Wales Minister for Resources and Energy Chris Hartcher.
Other invited guests include Mayor of Shoalhaven Council, Councillor Paul Green; Federal Member for Gilmore, Joanna Gash; Federal Member for Eden-Monaro, Mike Kelly; State Member for the South Coast, Shelley Hancock; State Member for Kiama, Gareth Ward; Vice Chancellor of the University of Wollongong, Prof. Paul Wellings; Director of the Shoalhaven Marine and Freshwater Centre at the University of Wollongong, Pia Winberg; and Shoalhaven Campus Head of Campus Associate Prof. Robbie Collins. The Manildra Group Chairman Dick Honan and Managing Director John Honan are hosting the event.
The event will kick off Aug. 2 at 11:00 am.
