The engine revs, ready to roar, whispers about the next truck spread across the grandstand.  The flag signals the start and the truck engine thunders like a tornado trying to get lose under the hood.  But wait, there’s something wrong here.  Where is all the black smoke that goes hand-in-hand with diesel truck pulls?  Aha!  This truck is fueled by biodiesel!

Herb Blaser, coordinator at SunPower Biodiesel, pulled with his 2011 Dodge Cummins Diesel 3500 in the local stock 8000# class at Almena Fun Days in Wisconsin on Aug. 4 and won...again.

What’s his secret weapon? Biodiesel.

This makes a repeat win for Blaser, who took first in the 2011 tractor pulling event.  That tractor was also fueled by SunPower Biodiesel.

This year, the competition was stiff with 19 trucks competing.  “There were a lot of other trucks that blew a great deal of black smoke, mine hardly had any and none of it was black!” commented Blaser.

It’s no surprise to SunPower Biodiesel, the company who supplied Blaser with the fuel, that he took first place.  In fact, currently SunPower’s LED moving sign in front of their production facility reads, “Green is power, ask the Hulk.”  At Almena Fun Days, dubbed as “The biggest small town tractor and truck pull in northern Wisconsin,” it certainly proved to be true.

SunPower Biodiesel manufactures 3 MMgy at its Cumberland, Wis., facility.  SunPower products and services are differentiated by proprietary oilseed crops, additives, quality assurance, blending and distributor network.  SunPower Biodiesel also manages two retail fueling stations in Cumberland, Wis., and Duluth, Minn.
