Biodiesel consulting firm adds maritime projects expert

Biodiesel consultancy Lee Enterprises Consulting has added Gerry Ellis as its maritime projects expert. Ellis has a bachelor’s degree in nautical science from Liverpool University in Liverpool, U.K.

“Gerry Ellis is probably the most recognized professional in the maritime industry,” said Wayne Lee, principal owner of Lee Enterprises. “With the upcoming low sulfur mandates and the expanding potential of alternative fuels in the maritime industry, it was only natural that we bring aboard a top expert in maritime projects.”

Ellis is president of Ellis Maritime Consulting based in Miami, Fla. Ellis is a Master Mariner, Class 1 (Unlimited) with more than 30 years of experience in the marine industry.  He has held a number of executive positions with Carnival Cruise Lines, Seabourn Cruise Lines and Cunard Cruise Lines, and is currently working on a special retrofit project with Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines.

Ellis has held positions from cadet to captain onboard numerous classes of vessels including tankers, cargo and cruise ships, and holds numerous certifications.
