Florida-based restaurants have been flocking to Genuine Bio-Fuel Inc.’s Oil-to-Fuel Program. GBF recently celebrated signing on board its 1000th member, making the recycled used cooking oil for cash program a huge success. Jeff Longo, executive vice president of GBF said, “I’m thrilled to see so many local restaurants participating in the Oil-to-Fuel program. The reality is we support each other, and we have to continue to support one another if we want to build our communities strong and take steps toward energy independence.”

GBF takes the onus off busy restaurant owners and operators by managing the entire oil collection and disposal process. The company supplies restaurants with sealable, durable, clean containers for oil collection. Then GBF sends out its courteous representatives for regularly scheduled pickups, and quarterly checks are delivered to the restaurant for the used cooking oil collected. GBF uses state-of-the-art equipment and friendly professional service to ensure safe and smooth collections. Another bonus to participating restaurants is that they receive free online advertising on GBF’s Save Us From Foreign Oil website.

The program was started as a means to collect used cooking oil, but also to provide opportunities for local businesses to grow revenues at the same. Disposing used cooking oil used to be a hefty expense for restaurants; now the Oil-to-Fuel Program inverts that model and offers them benefits for recycling.
