BY Oil-Dri Corp. of America

Select FF, the next generation of Oil-Dri’s natural silicates, offers fast filtration in a highly effective adsorbent for the removal of polar contaminants such as soaps, metals and phospholipids from fats and oils. Select FF is used to produce clean, quality edible oils and biodiesel feedstock to meet the most demanding specifications.

“Our mission of delivering value to our customers through specialized mineral technology and superior technical service is of great importance to the longevity of our business in oil and fats refining,” said Vice President of Oil-Dri Fluids Purification Group, Bruce Patsey. “We are pleased that we can provide new products that meet customers’ needs and advance fluids purification technology.”

Select FF improves oil throughput and is optimized for superior adsorbent flowability, even in extreme cold or high-moisture conditions. A secondary benefit is effective removal of chlorophyll and color pigments. In addition, it supports a higher flash point, lower cloud point and glycerin in biodiesel processing for multiple feedstock types.
