Neste Oil building Singapore renewable diesel plant

Oil refining and marketing company Neste Oil Corp. has officially begun building a 550 million ($805 million) NExBTL renewable diesel plant in Singapore, which will annually produce 800,000 metric tons (271 MMgy) of the fuel, mainly from animal fats and palm oil. Permaflo Biodiesel goes to the Arctic Circle

In early March, the Indiana Soybean Alliance tested 250 gallons of a new cold climate Permaflo biodiesel in Alaska. The fuel, which has a cloud point as low as -55 degrees Celsius (-67 degrees Fahrenheit), was developed at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Ind.READ MORE

WASDE: Exports up, biodiesel use down

In the latest USDA World Agricultural Supply and Demand Estimates report issued March 11, projections for soybean ending stocks in the current marketing year were lowered 25 million bushels to 185 million bushels. Despite lower production, soybean oil stocks were projected higher due to a sharp reduction in domestic use resulting from lower soybean oil-based biodiesel production.READ MORE
