California-based biodiesel producers Greenline Industries LLC and Oilsource Holding LLC have partnered to develop a 60 MMgy biodiesel plant in Miami, which would be the largest in the Southeast. The $96 million project, slated to be complete by the first quarter of 2009, would have rail spur access for distribution within a 90-mile radius of three of Florida's main ports, according to Oilsource CEO Felipe Cano. The facility, called BioMix Energy, will use feedstocks such as palm, jatropha and coconut oil, among others. Construction will be conducted in three phases, reaching target capacity in the third phase, according to Cano.
