Legislation expressing the House of Representatives' view that America should attain 25 percent of its energy from America's farms, forests and ranches was marked up during a business session of the House Agriculture Committee. Specifically, the resolution expresses that "it is the goal of the U.S. that, no later than Jan. 1, 2025, the agricultural, forestry and working land of the U.S. should provide from renewable resources not less than 25 percent of the total energy consumed in the U.S. and continue to produce safe, abundant and affordable food, feed and fiber."
The resolution, H. Con. Res 424, passed by voice vote.
