The recent spike in biodiesel training, education courses, student organizations and workshops recently is very nice to see, yet curious to some perhaps. 
 
 It's the positive side of this industry, what is often characterized as depressed, injured and weakened, mostly as a result of the past eight full months without the $1 per gallon federal blender credit. In a manner of speaking, the increased biodiesel education and training is the lesser mentioned yang to the always covered yin of biodiesel. 
 

 I try and tell colleagues and others who ask how we at Biodiesel Magazine month after month manage to find even some uplifting biodiesel industry news and stories to cover, and it's not hard really. One just has to listen, and look, and not be on a mission to only report on that which is obvious-the hard times. 
 
 I firmly believe good times for biodiesel producers will come again, certainly I am hoping for sooner rather than later. 
 
 Looking at all the courses, training and student organizations emerging, the expertise arising from such activities will surely offer an even greater positive future for the industry than our greatest moments in the past.
