Paseo-Cargill Energy begins production

June 17, 2008

After hosting a ribbon-cutting ceremony in January, Paseo-Cargill Energy LLC officially started production at its 40 MMgy biodiesel plant in Kansas City, Mo., in early April. It's adjacent to Cargill Inc.'s existing soybean-processing facility and will use soybean oil as a feedstock. It has also completed the requirements to become a BQ-9000 accredited producer. "Customers expect trouble-free performance from their fuel, and we are confident that biodiesel produced at this facility meets those standards," said David Durham, chairman of Paseo Biofuels. The plant, which also includes an integrated glycerin refinery, is a joint venture between Paseo Biofuels, Cargill and the Missouri Soybean Association.
