Regional Ethanol Symposiums for Lenders in San Francisco, Chicago, New York
July 1, 2002
Colorado-based BBI International, consultants to the fuel ethanol industry, is co-sponsoring a series of three Regional Ethanol Symposiums for Lenders with USDA Rural Business - Cooperative Services and the Washington, D.C.-based Renewable Fuels Association (RFA).
Lenders are a critical element in the growth of the ethanol industry and this series is designed to enhance the knowledge base about ethanol production and policy matters amongst those who are financing these value-added projects.
The first symposium took place July 18-19, in San Francisco. Additional symposiums will be held in Chicago, Aug. 21-22, and New York, NY, Aug. 28-29.
"The information provided at the San Francisco symposium was absolutely invaluable to me," said Cindy Holland of CoBank.
Who should attend? The symposiums are open to lenders and and representatives of financial institutions that have either been asked to finance a renewable energy project, or anticipate that they will be. BBI strongly encourages these professionals to register for the symposiums immediately, as space is very limited.
Each Regional Ethanol Symposium for Lenders will address the following issues, and more:
- Public policies that impact the industry's future
- The value-added concept for rural America
- The farmer-owned cooperative structure
- Financing requirements
- Ethanol markets
- Coproduct markets
- Energy requirements and costs
- Typical financial projections, risks and benefits
- A final discussion forum with experienced lenders
