Senate passes biodiesel tax incentive

On Feb. 12, the U.S. Senate passed a transportation bill that contained a biodiesel tax incentive, according to an American Soybean Association press release. The 76-21 vote approved a new six-year highway spending bill that contains a biodiesel tax incentive virtually identical to one that was in the Senate energy bill that stalled late last year. On Feb. 11, the House of Representatives opted to approve a four-month extension to the current transportation bill. Once the bill passes, it will move to conference committee where a final version of the bill will be negotiated.
