Glycerin from the biodiesel production process could have a new use, and it's coming from a likely place: engines. ASTM is reviewing a series of new standards for glycerin that would allow the product to replace ethylene glycol in antifreeze.

Mission NewEnergy Ltd. announced that it has sold an additional 280 barrels (38 tons) of unrefined jatropha oil to a new customer in Southeast Asia. Mission sold the jatropha oil for more than $145 per barrel.
