July most profitable month ever for biodiesel

Report outlines global biodiesel production


The Worldwatch Institute's new report finds that global biodiesel production increased by 12 percent between 2009 and 2010, reaching an estimated production level of more than 5 billion gallons. The top two producing nations are Germany and Brazil.

Green Grease Solutions to supply feedstock to e-Biofuels


Imperial Petroleum has executed a Letter of Engagement with feedstock supplier Green Grease Solutions to secure a two-year supply of feedstock for its Middletown, Ind., biodiesel plant, which is operated by its wholly-owned subsidiary e-Biofuels.

New Zealand, Texas companies collaborate on algae process


Aquaflow Bionomic, a New Zealand-based algae technology developer, is taking a broad approach to algae-to-fuel development, one the company's director says may include nonalgae feedstocks. It's now working with CRI Catalyst Co. on the IH2 process.

Vertically-integrated algae developer Aurora Algae has received $22 million in funding in a round led by Oak Investment Partners and other existing investors, along with an undisclosed foreign strategic investor. To date it has raised $72 million.
