The biodiesel industry has experienced resurgence in production this year, and Denver-based Blue Sun Biodiesel intends to participate in the foray as the biodiesel marketer and distributor acquires the former Terra Bioenergy facility in St. Joe, Mo.

SeQuential Pacific Biodiesel hits production milestone


The company's community-scale model is paying off as the plant reached a milestone this month surpassing its 10 millionth gallon of biodiesel produced from used cooking oil. Upon opening in 2008, the plant was scaled to produce 1 MMgy of biodiesel.

82 biodiesel producers receive USDA advanced biofuel payments


The USDA announced payments to 156 advanced biofuel producers under its Bioenergy Program for Advanced Biofuels. According to information released by the department, 82 of those 156 producers are receiving payments for biodiesel production.

Viridis to build 20 MMgy biodiesel plant in Oakland, Calif.


The East Bay Municipal Utility District Board of Directors approved a long-term agreement with Oakland, Calif.-based Viridis Fuels to construct a 20 MMgy biodiesel plant adjacent to the West Oakland water treatment plant near the new OBB toll plaza.

CEP markets biodiesel as energy substitute for coal
