Weekend fire incident at German biodiesel plant contained in time At Petrotec AG's biodiesel production plant in Sudlohn-Oeding, Germany, a fire broke out on the morning of Sept. 23 in a side production line of its biodiesel production process. Reps. Olson, Blackburn introduce 'Stop RIN Fraud Act of 2012' The "Stop RIN Fraud Act of 2012" was introduced in Congress to legislatively alter EPA's administration of the RIN program. 100M gallons of US biodiesel produced in August, 757M gallons YTD Biodiesel production is reported under EPA's biomass-based diesel category in the renewable fuel standard. The EPA numbers show a total of 103 million gallons of biomass-based diesel for the month of August, but that figure includes renewable diesel. READ MORE SHARE

Lufthansa to fund Algae.Tec's European algae-to-biojet facility Algae.Tec Ltd. and Lufthansa signed a collaboration agreement for construction of a large-scale algae to aviation biofuels facility. The site will be in Europe adjacent to an industrial CO2 source. Lufthansa will arrange 100 percent of the financing. READ MORE SHARE
