The U.S. biodiesel industry applauded Tuesday, Jan. 1, as the U.S. House cleared a year-end fiscal package that reinstates the biodiesel tax incentive for 2012 and 2013. President Barack Obama is expected to quickly sign the bill into law.

Fiscal cliff bill extends biofuel tax incentives through 2013


President Obama is expected to sign the American Taxpayer Relief Act of 2012 into law today. The legislation, also known as the "fiscal cliff bill," includes language to extend several biofuel-related tax incentives, including the biodiesel credit.

Hawaii Petroleum loads first tanker of distilled biodiesel


Hawaii Petroleum loaded the first tanker of fuel produced at the Big Island Biodiesel facility in Kea 'au. The fuel is bound for its nearby Hawaii Fueling Network station in Shipman Business Park, which offers 100 percent biodiesel and a B20 blend.
