Sanimax expanding Wis. biodiesel plant, adds Apache tankage


Renderer and biodiesel producer Sanimax is building out production capacity at its 20 MMgy manufacturing facility in DeForest, Wis. Apache supplied to Sanimax an atmospheric stainless tank and three pressure vessels within the past month.

REG signs agreement to buy 30 MMgy Soy Energy biodiesel plant


REG executed a purchase agreement to acquire a 30 MMgy biodiesel plant from Soy Energy LLC. Pursuant to the agreement, REG will acquire the Mason City, Iowa, biodiesel plant for $11 million in cash and the issuance of a $5.6 million promissory note.

Ontario government commits to provincial biodiesel mandate


As announced by Finance Minister Charles Sousa in the budget released May 2, the government of Ontario will seek to repeal the existing biodiesel tax exemption and undertake a formal consultation on the creation of a renewable diesel mandate.

UC-Davis publishes Calif. low carbon fuel standard status update


According to the report, low carbon fuels displaced approximately 6.2 percent of California's gasoline and diesel transportation fuels in 2012. About 9 percent of credits under the program were generated from biodiesel and renewable diesel.

Lignol acquires majority interest in Territory Biofuels Ltd.


Lignol announced it has provided a $510,000 loan to Australia-based Territory Biofuels in exchange for receiving 2.5 million stock options, making Lignol the majority shareholder of TBF on a fully diluted basis with a 51.9 percent shareholding.
