Marathon to purchase Felda's 60 MMgy Cincinnati biodiesel plant Marathon Petroleum Corp. has signed an agreement to purchase a facility in Cincinnati, Ohio, from Felda Iffco Sdn Bhd, Malaysia. The plant currently produces several products including biodiesel and glycerin. The deal is expected to close in April. READ MORE SHARE
BDI completes retrofit of 10 MMgy biodiesel plant in Greece A biodiesel plant remodeled by BDI-BioEnergy International AG in Volos, Greece, owned by Elin Biofuels S.A., was officially opened at a recent ceremony. REG breaks ground on $13.2M upgrade to Newton biodiesel plant Renewable Energy Group broke ground Feb. 4 on a $13.2 million improvement project at its Newton, Iowa, biodiesel refinery. Neol patents microorganism for waste-to-oil production Neol Biosolutions, a 50/50 joint venture between the Neuron Bio Group and Repsol, has patented the microorganism Neoleum, which the company says is able to produce oils from waste at a faster rate than oil-bearing seeds such as palm or rape. 12 MMgy ultrasonic biodiesel facility planned for Saudi Arabia Portugal-based biodiesel technology provider Incbio announced it has signed an agreement with Saudi Arabia-based Bio Renewable Energy Factory to supply a 40,000 ton per year (12 MMgy) ultrasonic biodiesel refinery that will use rendered fats.
