EU agreement on ILUC caps conventional biofuels at 7 percent


On June 13, the European Union Energy Council announced it has reached a political agreement on measures to incorporate indirect land use change into EU biofuel policies. Biofuel trade groups said the move is expected to restore investor confidence.

Coffee biodiesel properties differ little despite varieties used

Ceremonial groundbreaking held for Iowa renewable fuels station


The fueling site, located in Inwood, Iowa, will offer ethanol blends as well as B5 and B99.9 biodiesel blends for independent jobbers and special use customers. Oak Street Station received a $125,000 grant from the Iowa "Fueling Our Future" program.

USPTO grants Neol Biosolutions patent for MicroBiOil-1


The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office has granted Neol Biosolutions, a 50/50 joint venture between the Neuron Bio Group and Repsol, a patent for its MicroBiOil-1 technology that converts crude glycerin from biodiesel production into triglycerides.
