Last hurdle cleared in US biodiesel trade case as ITC votes 4-0


On April 3 the U.S. International Trade Commission voted 4-0 in favor of the National Biodiesel Board Fair Trade Coalition's position that the industry has suffered because of unfairly dumped imports of biodiesel from Argentina and Indonesia.

ADM blames imports for cutting German biodiesel output


ADM announced plans in March to temporarily cease production of biodiesel at its facility in Mainz, Germany, as a result of increased biodiesel imports into the EU. Last fall, looming imports caused France's Saipol to make a similar decision.

Scientists say California can get tougher on clean fuels


California can reduce carbon emissions by more than 70 million metric tons by 2030, akin to taking 15 million gasoline-powered cars off the road in one year, by adopting a higher target for its Low Carbon Fuel Standard, according to a new analysis.

No renewal of biodiesel tax credit in omnibus spending bill


Congress is expected to pass an omnibus spending bill March 22 to fund the U.S. government, which does not include a reinstatement of the biodiesel tax credit. In February, Congress passed a retroactive extension of the incentive for 2017 only.
