REG to sell life sciences unit, confident BTC will be reinstated


REG announced its financial results for Q4 and all of 2018. In the release, CJ Warner, president and CEO, said she is confident Congress will reinstate the blenders tax credit. REG's board has also decided to pursue selling its life sciences unit.

Muenzer’s 1st community-scale UCO biodiesel plant in India opens


Construction of the community-scale biodiesel plant in Navi Mumbai began last year, and the official opening of the new production facility just recently took place. The plant is scaled at 3,000 tons, or more than 900,000 gallons, per year.

LSU grad student uses E. coli to create biodiesel feedstock


Tatiana Mello of Piracicaba, Brazil, a mechanical engineering graduate student at Louisiana State University, is currently working on genetically engineering and optimizing E. coli to produce bioproducts, like biodiesel, in a cost-effective manner.
