Cargill constructs biodiesel plant in Belgium


Cargill is constructing a multi waste- and residues-based biodiesel plant at its existing integrated oilseeds crush and Bioro biodiesel site in Ghent, Belgium. The plant will use the latest technology from BDI-BioEnergy International GmbH.

EIA: US biodiesel capacity falls by 49 MMgy


The U.S. Energy Information Administration released data on Oct. 23 showing that 91 biodiesel plants were operational in the U.S. as of Jan. 1, 2020, down from 103 from the previous year. Production capacity fell by 49 MMgy.

EPA awards $1.4 million to National Biodiesel Foundation


The U.S. EPA has awarded $1.4 million to the National Biodiesel Foundation to support its efforts to reduce diesel emissions and exposure in the Washington, D.C., area by replacing municipal vehicles with new biodiesel-powered units.

Oil state senators ask EPA to undermine the RFS


Several oil state senators are urging the EPA to set the 2021 RVO for renewable fuel below the E10 blend wall. They also called for cellulosic, advanced biofuel, and biomass-based diesel RVOs be set at the level of demonstrated domestic production.
