Marathon, ADM announce closing of feedstock partnership Marathon Petroleum Corp. and ADM on Dec. 14 announced the closing of their joint venture to produce soybean oil to supply the rapidly growing demand for renewable diesel fuel. Klobuchar, Grassley introduce Defend the Blend Act Sens. Amy Klobuchar, D-Minn., and Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, on Dec. 14 introduced a bill that aims to prohibit the U.S. EPA from retroactively reducing RFS RVOs. A companion bill is pending in the U.S. House of Representatives. READ MORE SHARE

UK proposes to continue trade measures for biodiesel The U.K. Trade Remedies Authority on Dec. 15 proposed to keep current anti-dumping and countervailing measures on FAME biodiesel in place for an additional five years, but remove similar measures currently in place for HVO renewable diesel. USDA maintains forecast for soybean oil use in biofuel The USDA maintained its 2021-’22 forecast for soybean oil use in biofuel production in its latest World Agricultural Supply and Demand Estimates report, released Dec. 9. USDA: Biodiesel exports at nearly 30,000 tons in October The U.S. exported 29,689.5 metric tons of biodiesel and biodiesel blends of greater than B30 in October, up from 15,634.4 metric tons during the same month of last year, but down from 40,973.4 metric tons the previous month, according to the USDA.
