Continental Refining Co. breaks ground on biodiesel facility Continental Refining Co. on Dec. 21 broke ground on its new soybean crushing, biodiesel refining and blending facility in Somerset, Kentucky, a project creating 20 full-time jobs with a $26.8 million investment. READ MORE SHARE
Verde Bio Holdings agrees to acquire 2 biodiesel plants Verde Bio Holdings Inc. announced on Dec. 16 the execution of a letter of intent to acquire two existing and operational biodiesel plants located in Fort Myers, Florida, and Wilson, North Carolina. EIA: US biofuel capacity, feedstock consumption up in October U.S. biofuels production capacity expanded to nearly 20.87 billion gallons per year in October, according to data released by the U.S. Energy Information Administration on Dec. 30. Portland-area buses now fueled with renewable diesel Starting Dec. 2, 2021, all TriMet buses running on routes throughout the tri-county Portland metro area will be powered by a much cleaner-burning fuel—renewable diesel. Bp, Maersk Tankers carry out successful marine biofuel trials bp and Maersk Tankers, with support from the Danish Maritime Authority, have successfully completed trials using biofuel-blended marine fuel in product tankers, demonstrating that sustainable biofuels can be used as a marine "drop-in fuel."
