Argonne, Progress Rail test use of biofuels for rail industry The U.S. Department of Energy’s Argonne National Laboratory and Progress Rail, a Caterpillar company, are researching a variety of biodiesel and renewable diesel fuels with the goal of lowering the carbon intensity of fuels used by the rail industry. USDA: US biodiesel imports top 123,302 metric tons in February The U.S. exported 18,576.8 metric tons of biodiesel and biodiesel blends of B30 or greater in February, according to data released by the USDA Foreign Agricultural Service on April 5. 	EIA: US biofuel capacity up in January Total U.S. operatable biofuels production capacity expanded to 22.209 billion gallons in January with gains for both renewable diesel and ethanol, according to data released by the U.S. EIA. IRFA offers farmers cash back for fueling with biodiesel The iRFA has re-launched the statewide On-Farm Biodiesel Credit program to give back to Iowa farmers.
