Amamax, Sanimal merge

March 1, 2005

The Anamax Group of Companies in Green Bay, Wis., and Sanimal Inc. in Montreal, Quebec, announced the signing of a merger agreement Jan. 18. The two companies, both leaders in rendering, are combining resources to take advantage of strategic opportunities in the industry.
"Because the foundations of our two companies are similar-both family-owned with mirroring corporate values-the merger will be seamless," said Mike Langenhorst, president and CEO of the Anamax Group of Companies. "Together, we will be able to continue to live the corporate vision that our company has embraced since 1881."

Andre Couture of Sanimal will be the chairman of the newly merged organization; there won't be any changes in regional management or operations. Martin Couture continues as president of Sanimal. "This exchange of knowledge and technology is truly a case where one plus one will equal three," Andre Couture said.

Anamax recycles animal and food byproducts into tallows, greases, proteins and more. Sanimal serves the agribusiness industry worldwide with production and services in collection, processing, enhancement and marketing of animal byproducts, grain and grain byproducts.
