The U.S. Grains Council has several events lined up for June and July, both overseas and in the U.S.

The first two events are in early June and involve bringing overseas visitors to the U.S. From June 4 to June 12, a team from Morrocco will visit Lubbock, Texas, escorted by USGC and U.S.-based company Boehringer Ingelheim Vetmedica Inc. The group will learn about U.S. dairy check-off programs, DDGS and sorghum use in dairy/beef rations or production.

From June 4 to June 18 USGC will sponsor teams from China, Vietnam and Taiwan on a visit to the World Pork Expo in Des Moines, Iowa. There will be tours and training before and after the conference, giving USGC the opportunity to talk about the U.S. capability to supply exports as well as educate them on the advantages of using U.S. grains and DDGS.

Later on in the month, from June 19 to June 24, USGS members will have the opportunity to attend educational DDGS feed industry workshops in Japan. DDGS suppliers can participate and provide information on U.S. DDGS export availability, nutrition, use and other topics. “Livestock experts, influential commercial farms and feed companies are also invited to provide updated information on the feed application of DDGS.” USGC said.

Finally, from July 25 to July 27 in San Francisco, Calif., USGC will hold its 51st Annual Board of Delegates Meeting. One speaker is Christine Vick, a consultant for a variety of industries, such as agriculture, biotechnology, energy and financial services. “Vick will share her perspective on global trade trends and the forces shaping economic dynamics,” USGC says. “As a long-time specialist in geo-politics, Vick has an extensive background in building strategic relationships with both government and corporate entities around the world, helping position several multinational corporations to navigate the often complex and complicated global business environment.”
