Honda R&D Americas Inc. achieves LEED gold certification

The United States Green Building Council awarded Honda R&D Americas Inc. in Raymond, Ohio, with the trademarked Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) gold certification. According to a press release from American Honda Motor Co., the facility achieved the certification because it uses water and energy conservation systems, as well as emissions-reducing tactics. One such tactic is the emergency generator, which is operated on biodiesel, reducing emissions up to 75 percent.
