Texas research lab receives Greening Award

February 1, 2005

The Agricultural Research Service's Conservation and Production Laboratory in Bushland, Texas, received the first annual Southern Plains Area Greening Award. The award recognizes ARS Southern Plains locations demonstrating environmentally friendliness. The Bushland lab has been using B100 since 2000 to power stationary electrical power generators. "We hope to set a tough standard for the rest of the labs," Laboratory Director Nolan Clark said. Clark said B100 has provided better voltage control in the generators. The lab will begin testing emissions from biodiesel with varying feedstocks.
