Rafael Nieves joined BBI International's Project Development team in Golden, Colo., in July. As project manager, he will work closely with BBI International clients to develop biofuels projects. Previously, Nieves worked at NREL's National Bioenergy Center as a senior researcher and later as a senior project leader. He has worked in the renewable energy sector for more than 20 years.
Howard Brockhouse joined BBI International's Media Division in Grand Forks, N.D., in late August as an advertising account manager. He is responsible for managing accounts and sales for BBI Media's publications. Brockhouse brings more than a decade of sales and marketing expertise to BBI International. He holds a bachelor's degree in business with an emphasis in marketing and communications from the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota.
Kory Wallen has joined Biodiesel Magazine as a staff writer and photographer. Wallen, a recent graduate of the University of North Dakota (UND), holds a degree in photojournalism and has broad writing and editing experience. While at UND, Wallen was a photo editor, staff writer and features editor for the Dakota Student newspaper. He was also president of the North Dakota Chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists. More recently, Wallen worked as a freelance photographer for the Associated Press.
