REG's biodiesel sales volume hits new heights in August
Renewable Energy Group Inc. announced Sept. 13 it sold more than 50 million gallons of biomass-based diesel last month, a first in the company’s history. REG has 12 active biorefineries across the U.S.—including 10 biodiesel plants, a renewable diesel facility and a demo-scale fermentation plant for production of renewable chemicals—and an expansive distribution network.
The 50.9 million gallons sold in August does not include sales from Petrotec, the German biodiesel producer in which REG has majority ownership.
“We are thankful for our customers, vendors and investors who made this milestone possible because of the relationships and business we have had the privilege of building with them over the past 10 years,” said Daniel J. Oh, REG president and CEO. “This is an operational testament to the total team effort within REG, and proof of our industry’s ability to respond to growing demand for high-quality biomass-based diesel in support of consistently growing RFS2 RVOs.”
