Pennsylvania biodiesel producers form group

June 21, 2007

This spring, the Pennsylvania Biodiesel Producers Group was formed in order to present a unified voice regarding the business, environmental and energy policy benefits of biodiesel. In May, Ben Wootton, president of current biodiesel producer Keystone Biofuels in Shiremanstown, Pa., represented the group at a Pennsylvania House Environmental Resources and Energy Committee public hearing, speaking of the need for an in-state production incentive for biodiesel. Biodiesel of Pennsylvania Inc., United BioFuels and United Oil Co. are additional producer-members of the group. Companies that are members, but haven't started production yet, are Soy Energy and Middletown BioFuels.
