The episode also featured the processing of municipal sewage into fertilizer; ConAgra's process of using thermal depolymerization to convert turkey organs, bones and feathers from its processing plant waste into oil; a company called Enviroboard that makes fiberboard out of straw; and Shellpro, a company that makes a wide variety of products out of walnut and other nut shells.

This wasn't the History Channel's only program featuring biodiesel. In June, Modern Marvels aired an episode called "Truck Stops." Country singer and biodiesel booster Willie Nelson was interviewed about "one of the most unique truck stops in the United States and the revolutionary fuel it sells." The "Truck Stops" episode is also available on DVD from the History Channel.
Modern Marvels also aired an episode examining the legacy of George Washington Carver. Carver discovered many new uses for oilseed crops and promoted the use of oils as fuel, along with automotive pioneer Henry Ford. Another episode profiled Lovecraft Biofuels, a West Coast diesel auto conversion company.
Boneyard follows the dismantling of various items and their unusual afterlife. It has examined the recycling of everything from massive oil tankers to passenger cars to Cold War-era cruise missiles.
