Western South Dakota welcomes new biodiesel blending facility
The South Dakota Soybean Research & Promotion Council announced in May that a new biodiesel blending facility has opened in Box Elder, South Dakota, near Rapid City, which the organization says will make using biodiesel much easier in the western part of the state.
“Located less than 10 miles from the Magellan Rapid City terminal, the new Victory Renewables biodiesel blending facility provides fuel marketers with convenient access to take full loads of biodiesel or blend biodiesel with diesel fuel,” stated SDSRPC. “Biodiesel will arrive at the new facility via rail and users will bottom-load transport trucks.”
Year-round biodiesel sales will be facilitated by a heating system on-site.
The new biodiesel blending facility was funded in part by the South Dakota Soybean Research & Promotion Council and the soybean checkoff.
