The Kauderer Group Energy, a subsidiary of business and finance advisor The Kauderer Group, has submitted a letter of intent (LOI) to broker the purchase of an 87-acre plot of land in Marion, Ohio, for the construction of a biodiesel production facility.
The land is located about 50 miles north of Columbus, Ohio, in the same industrial area as Union Tank Car Co. The land is already zoned for biofuels production, according to Kauderer Group Energy.
In its first year of operation, the proposed biodiesel plant will have an anticipated production capacity of 12.6 MMgy. Ohio currently has operational biodiesel plants in Defiance, Medina, Cincinnati, Toledo and Woodstock, with several other plants under construction.
"Our objective is to provide our clients with all the necessary tools for growth," said Brian Duffy, director of global client services for Kauderer Group Energy. Duffy recently was added to the team to spearhead the new division along with Eleazar Kauderer, the company's chief executive officer.
"The letter of intent is an example of our commitment to the development of companies and solutions in the alternative energy space," he said. "We hope to continue contributing to the growth of this sector in the state of Ohio and throughout the United States."
