Evolution Fuels will host country music singers Willie Nelson and Family at the Willie's Place at Carl's Corner Truck Stop in Carl's Corner, Texas, on Dec. 16., to help promote a plan to develop a chain of renewable fuel stations that extend from Texas to Mississippi. Willie's Place at Carl's Corner, which opened December 2008, is partially owned by Evolution Fuels' subsidiary Legend's Travel Centers LLC and has "steadily increased sales of biodiesel blended fuels since that time," the company said.
Evolution Fuels, formerly Earth Biofuels, published its third quarter financial results on Nov. 24. Highlights included net income of $468,000, compared to a net loss of $10.7 million in the same period last year. It decreased selling, general and administrative expenses by nearly 67 percent, maintained cash and cash equivalents of $154,000, and a $2 million gain on the exchange for Evolution Fuels convertible notes for 200,000 shares of PNG stock.
