National Biodiesel Foundation to host silent auction
January 19, 2010
Visit the National Biodiesel Foundation at the National Biodiesel Conference & Expo in Grapevine, Texas, in February, where the foundation will host its annual silent auction. The goal of the auction is to fund projects of importance to the biodiesel industry. In 2010, the NBF will pursue projects in sustainability awareness, feedstock development and infrastructure.
The fundraiser will auction biodiesel fuel, subscriptions to popular trade magazines, 2011 National Biodiesel Conference package, tickets to the 2011 National Biodiesel Conference Super Bowl Party, resources for biodiesel producers, private boat tours, jewelry and more. The Foundation is still collecting auction items, so if you would like to make a tax deductible donation of cash, goods, or services, please contact Susan Susanke at susan@biodieselfoundation.org.
During the three years the Foundation has been active, it has hosted fleet education and fuel quality workshops in conjunction with the U.S. DOE's Clean Cities Program and has been awarded grants for biodiesel infrastructure and education projects that promote biodiesel's sustainability and mechanic education. It also received funds to promote BioHeat in the state of Massachusetts. The Foundation is a recipient of a Tiger Team award, which enables it to provide technical assistance to Clean Cities coordinators nationwide.
The NBF, a (501(c)(3)), was established to accomplish outreach, education, research and demonstration activities for the advancement of biodiesel and its coproducts to improve rural economic development, national security, air quality and the environment.
