Barrington, Ill.-based EcoloCap Solutions Inc. has selected Triad Constructors Inc. out of Fenton, Mo., as the installation and commissioning partner for its new biodiesel technology. According to EcoloCap, Triad Constructors will be utilized for the sales, distribution, installation and commissioning of new Nano Processing Waste biodiesel processing units sold in North America.

Although Biodiesel Magazine was unable to reach EcoloCap for further comment on the contract and its NPW technology, the company's website states that the units can convert a broad range of feedstock into biodiesel without preprocessing. "Through our nanotechnology and use of additive we reduce chemical consumption and production costs significantly," EcoloCap states on its website. "We also offer a glycerin refining process that will refine glycerin to medical grade 99-plus percent."

According to EcoloCap, the system is guaranteed to produce ASTM-quality biodiesel and is designed to be run in a hybrid batch/flow process. The system also includes an automated quality monitoring system and features increased alcohol recovery capabilities. The company further states that the system features a remote system control that can be accessed via the internet, can produce 900 to 18,000 gallons of biodiesel a day, and can be outfitted with an optional glycerin refining processor.

An annual report filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange commission in May 2010 also offers a brief explanation of the process. "Our new processing technology will allow customers to utilize cheaper feedstock, reduce production cost per gallon, and produce biodiesel exceeding all ASTM specs," states the report. "Our NPW Series processing technology will convert a multitude of fats, oils and greases, virgin and waste, into 100 percent high-quality ASTM specification biodiesel. Most equipment providers must first approve feedstock to ensure biodiesel quality. We do not … and there is no limit on the degree of waste oil that can be processed." The annual report also notes that EcoloCap acquired 55 percent of nanotechnology provider Mirco Bubble Technologies in 2009, which developed the NPW machine.

Regarding the contract with Triad Constructors, EcoloCap noted in an announcement that the company was selected due to the significant experience its management team has in the biodiesel industry. "Triad Constructors' President Mark Johnston has been active in industrial construction for more than 30 years, with the last 11 years committed to the renewable fuels industry," stated EcoloCap. "Since 2006, Johnston has designed/built four plants in Missouri and completed the equipment and mechanical installation on three other plants."

According to EcoloCap, Triad Constructors will be commissioning the NPW system that has been purchased by Kansas-based R3 Energy. "Although it has been a long process to bring this technology to market, we have now accomplished a major step in forming this alliance with Triad Constructors," said EcoloCap President and CEO Michael Siegel, in a statement. "We all at EcoloCap are very excited about the potential this brings, and the value it will add to our operations."
