RIN management company EcoEngineers has hired a new renewable fuel standard (RFS) program manager, Anita Maher-Lewis. In her new role, Maher-Lewis oversees EcoEngineers’ compliance program including RFS registration, RIN management and quality assurance programs.
Maher-Lewis has more than 20 years of experience in the environmental and regulatory arena. Prior to joining EcoEngineers, she worked in the consulting engineering industry as a client services manager and team leader.
“I managed a team that included engineers and geologists, and we worked with clients like Quik Trip, Casey’s, Hy-Vee and many others providing a wide variety of services within the regulatory framework of environmental assessment, remediation and compliance,” Maher-Lewis said. “I also served as a technical expert on various regulatory and advisory committees on behalf of our clients, which included Fortune 500 companies, trade associations and others.”

As EcoEngineers’ new RFS program manager, Maher-Lewis says she’s excited to put her project and client management skills to work by building the company’s core business, working toward continuous improvement in all aspects of her business group, and support EcoEngineers’ clients’ business needs.

President Trump on July 4 signed the “One Big Beautiful Bill Act.” The legislation extends and updates the 45Z credit and revives a tax credit benefiting small biodiesel producers but repeals several other bioenergy-related tax incentives.
CARB on June 27 announced amendments to the state’s LCFS regulations will take effect beginning on July 1. The amended regulations were approved by the agency in November 2024, but implementation was delayed due to regulatory clarity issues.
SAF Magazine and the Commercial Aviation Alternative Fuels Initiative announced the preliminary agenda for the North American SAF Conference and Expo, being held Sept. 22-24 at the Minneapolis Convention Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Saipem has been awarded an EPC contract by Enilive for the expansion of the company’s biorefinery in Porto Marghera, near Venice. The project will boost total nameplate capacity and enable the production of SAF.
Global digital shipbuilder Incat Crowther announced on June 11 the company has been commissioned by Los Angeles operator Catalina Express to design a new low-emission, renewable diesel-powered passenger ferry.
