BY The National Biodiesel Foundation
Interested in helping young scientists get involved with biodiesel? Your donation to the National Biodiesel Foundation on Giving Tuesday, Dec. 1, will do just that. This year’s proceeds to the Dallas Hanks Memorial Fund specifically support the Next Generation Scientists Scholarships in order to send students to the National Biodiesel Conference & Expo. Additionally, NBF is proud to announce that any donation made on Giving Tuesday will go further through a generous matching donation. Please make this unique opportunity count.
Your gift will provide academic scholarships that will enable students to attend the National Biodiesel Conference & Expo and allow them to interact with energy leaders and industry members from across the country. Today’s college students will be tomorrow’s scientists, solving important air quality and energy issues of the future. They need our support!

“Our country needs more STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) students and the foundation is thrilled to support this effort through scholarships,” said NBF Executive Director Tom Verry. “It is our hope, with sufficient funding, to be able to support graduate study research and build on current scholarships. Please consider making a donation on Giving Tuesday.”

The National Biodiesel Foundation is a nonprofit organization that works closely with the biodiesel industry trade association, the National Biodiesel Board, for the advancement of biodiesel. Through outreach, education, research, and demonstration activities, the foundation works to address national issues affecting us all—clean air, economic development for rural communities, and enhanced national security through energy independence.
Giving Tuesday refers to the Tuesday after Thanksgiving and is designed as a day to give back. Beginning in 2012, the movement began as a way to follow the post-Thanksgiving consumer shopping holidays of Black Friday and Cyber Monday with a charitable day. On Tuesday, Dec. 1, charities, families, businesses, community centers, and students around the world will come together for one common purpose: to celebrate generosity and to give.
