Ag Processing Inc.'s (AGP) group vice president of Food and Industrial Products announced his retirement after a 39-year career in agriculture business. George Hoover, who joined AGP 20 years ago as manager of crude vegetable oils, held various AGP management positions before he officially retires on Dec. 31, 2004. AGP has since combined its process and refining groups, causing four new appointments within the company.
Cal Meyer, group vice president of the Processing Division, will assume additional responsibilities as group vice president of Processing and Refined Oils. Meyer's responsibilities will include all soybean and corn operations, refining operations, industrial products and the marketing activities for each business unit.
Dick Copeland, vice president of Technical Operations, has been promoted to senior vice president of Operations and Research. He will be responsible for research, methyl ester, process development, processing and vegetable oil refining.
Blake Hendrix, vice president of Marketing and Sales, and Intellectual Property Holdings, will assume responsibilities as vice president of Operations-Processing and Refining. He will oversee operations management for all soy processing and vegetable oil refining.
Dave Tegeder, vice president of Refined Vegetable Oils, has been promoted to senior vice president of Refined Vegetable Oils.
AGP, the world's largest cooperative soybean processor, is owned by 220 local cooperatives and six regional cooperatives representing more than 250,000 farmers from 16 states in the United States and Canada.
