Raptor to provide process technology for Eco Ventures Group
Groveland, Fla.-based Raptor Technology Group Inc. signed a contract with Eco Ventures Group Inc. to install its process technology at EVG’s proposed 3.6 MMgy multifeedstock biodiesel production facility in Groveland.
According to Todd Jones, vice president of sales and marketing for Raptor, the plant is expected to be operational by mid April and will utilize Raptor’s flagship modular technology system, which is capable of processing a variety of virgin oilseed and low-grade feedstocks such as yellow grease or used cooking oils. Production can also be monitored by Raptor remotely to ensure maximum operating efficiency, according to Jones.
“It usually takes about four to six weeks before everything is complete,” Jones told Biodiesel Magazine. Typically, we assemble our modular processing technology units for our clients at our plant in Groveland, disassemble them, then transport them to the project location and reassemble them there. For the EVG project, we’ll install all the technology at EVG’s site, which is located no more than two miles from our headquarters here in Groveland.”
Under terms of the contract, valued at $1.6 million, Raptor will maintain an additional 15 percent interest in the net operations of the plant as part of a profit sharing agreement with EVG. The plant will also serve as the model operation for Raptor for future sales and expansion.
When complete, the EVG project will be the third biodiesel project that Raptor helped launch into operation this year. In January, Raptor announced it helped bring online Greenwave Biodiesel’s 3 MMgy plant in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., and in February, Coastal Biofuel’s 1 MMgy in Savannah, Ga. In addition to biofuel technology services, Raptor also provides technology expertise for the mineral recovery and waste-to-power segments.
