Piedmont Biofuels provides B20 to Whole Foods

In February, Piedmont Biofuels of Pittsboro, N.C. was named the new fuel distributor for the Whole Foods Market North Carolina Distribution Center in Morrisville, N.C. Piedmont Biofuels will deliver 600 to 800 gallons of B20 per week as part of a pilot project in which Whole Foods will determine the feasibility of using B20 in all distribution trucks in its South Region. Whole Foods has been using B20 at its Midwest distribution center since October 2005. Piedmont Biofuels is currently building its own 1 MMgy biodiesel plant in Pittsboro; it is scheduled to begin production in August.
