Lurgi to build TexCom project in Texas

TexCom Inc. signed a letter of intent with Lurgi PSI to build a 35 MMgy biodiesel plant in Seabrook, Texas. Lurgi will provide the process technology, design and plant construction, according to Lou Ross, chief executive officer of TexCom. The Seabrook facility is the first of several south-central U.S. biodiesel plants that TexCom plans to build and operate. The plant will be located at an existing chemical terminal, Ross said. The plant design will incorporate diesel storage for on-site blending. TexCom is based in Houston, Texas, and Lurgi is based in Memphis, Tenn.
