Florida joins Southeast Diesel Collaborative

July 1, 2006

In an effort to reduce diesel emissions and promote the use of renewable fuels, Florida has joined the Southeast Diesel Collaborative. This regional partnership was formed by the U.S. EPA to protect public health, and increase the production and use of biodiesel. The reduction of idling at truck stops, increase of incentives for the production and use of vehicles that will burn biodiesel, and cooperation with manufacturers of engines and heavy equipment will be issues that the eight-state collaborative will focus on in order to reduce harmful fumes from petrol-diesel in the region
