A Call For Columnists

February 5, 2016

BY Anna Simet

Toward the end of every year—and for part of the beginning of the next—I spend a lot of time putting together a column schedule for Biomass Magazine. I have quite the variety of contributors—the Biomass Power Association, for example, has submitted one column of month every single month for the nine-plus years we’ve been in existence. The Biomass Thermal Energy Council has also regularly provided content, and for the past few years, John Ackerly of the Alliance for Green Heat, and Amanda Bilek for the Great Plains Institute. There are many more who you see in our pages on a regular basis.

Besides repeat contributors, I also publish one-time guest columns, as well as less-frequent columnists, those who submit op-eds every quarter, or twice per year.

Right now, I have a few open spaces to fill. Do you have some advice, lessons learned, opinions or research to share with the bioenergy community? Content that involves biomass power, heat, pellets, biogas/landfill gas, advanced biofuels or renewable chemicals?

If so, I’d love to hear from you. Tell me about your idea or interest. Columnists aren’t paid, but it’s a great platform to get your message, ideas or opinions out to the right audience.

If you click here, descending along the left, you’ll see some great examples of past columns we’ve run.

You don’t have to be a professional writer to compose a great column—that’s where I come in.
